BANG TAO’S NIGHTMARE: WHO IS PROTECTING THE BEACH CLUBS WHILE RESIDENTS SUFFER?

เรื่องที่ไม่มีใครอยากฟัง: บางเต้ไม่ใช่โซนสนุกสนาน แล้วทำไมคลับชายหาดอย่างเมย่าและยูฮีถึงทำเป็นเจ้าของคืนได้

(A Public Demand for the NACC & PACC to Act Before Phuket’s Reputation Collapses)

The Truth No One Wants to Hear: Bang Tao Is Not an Entertainment Zone—So Why Are Clubs Like Maya & Yuuhi Operating Like They Own the Night?

Bang Tao is a residential area. Not a party strip. Not a nightlife district. Not a place where beach clubs and karaoke bars should be allowed to blast music until 4 AM, serve alcohol to stumbling crowds, and turn streets into drunken chaos zones—while residents, tourists, and families are forced to endure the fallout.

Yet that is exactly what is happening.

Maya Beach Club. Yuuhi Beach Club. Karaoke bars that never close. Venues that ignore noise ordinances, liquor laws, and basic decency—all while Phuket’s authorities look the other way.

And now, with three Phuket mayors already facing corruption charges (see: SEA Anti-Corruption’s report on Phuket’s mayoral scandals), the question is no longer just “Why is this allowed?”

It is: WHO IS BEING PAID TO LET IT HAPPEN?

The Evidence Is Everywhere—So Why Is No One Being Held Accountable?

1. The Clubs Are Breaking the Law—And Getting Away With It

  • Noise pollution at all hours – Music blaring until 4 AM, disturbing residents who have no legal recourse.
  • Liquor service well past legal hours – Bars serving alcohol long after midnight, when Phuket’s liquor laws (and common sense) demand closure.
  • Drunk crowds causing public disturbances – Staggering, fighting, vomiting in the streets—yet no police intervention.
  • No proper permits for late-night operations – If these venues were in a designated entertainment zone, fine. But Bang Tao is NOT one. So why are they operating like they are?

2. The Mayors Are Under Investigation for Corruption—So Who’s Next?

We already know that Phuket’s political leadership has a history of abuse of power. Three mayors—Aroon Solos (Rawai), Panya Samphaorat (Pa Khlok), and Juta Dumlak (Kamala)—are facing charges for misconduct, fraud, and neglect of duty.

Now, we must ask:

  • Did these clubs bribe officials to operate illegally?
  • Are permits being sold under the table?
  • Is the police turning a blind eye because they’re on the payroll?

If corruption is rampant in Phuket’s government, why should we assume the nightlife industry is clean?

3. The Police Are Nowhere to Be Found—Unless You’re a Club Owner

Residents have repeatedly reported noise violations, drunk and disorderly conduct, and illegal operations—yet nothing happens.

  • No fines.
  • No shutdowns.
  • No consequences.

Instead, the clubs keep operating, the music keeps blasting, and the drunk crowds keep causing chaos.

Is this incompetence? Or is it protection?

A Direct Challenge to the NACC & PACC: STOP TURNING A BLIND EYE

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) exist for a reason: to root out corruption, hold officials accountable, and protect the public from abuse of power.

Yet in Bang Tao, the public is being abused—and no one is stopping it.

We Demand Answers—NOW:

  1. Who approved these clubs to operate in a residential zone?
  • Were permits bought illegally?
  • Were laws bent for profit?
  1. Why is the police not enforcing noise and liquor laws?
  • Are officers taking bribes?
  • Are they following orders from above?
  1. Are these clubs connected to the same corruption networks that got Phuket’s mayors charged?
  • If so, who is protecting them?
  1. When will the NACC and PACC investigate this?
  • How many more nights of noise, drunkenness, and lawbreaking must residents endure before action is taken?

The Truth Hurts—But Phuket Deserves Better

Phuket’s reputation is built on beaches, tourism, and a relaxed way of life. But when residential areas are turned into nightclubs, when laws are ignored, and when corruption is suspected but never investigated—what does that say about the island?

It says Phuket is losing control.

And if the NACC and PACC refuse to act, then the message is clear:
The clubs can do whatever they want. The police will look the other way. And the public has no power.

Final Warning: The People Are Watching

This is not just about noise and drunkenness. This is about corruption, abuse of power, and the erosion of trust in Phuket’s institutions.

The NACC and PACC have a choice:

  • Investigate now, hold the guilty accountable, and restore order.
  • Or keep silent—and let Phuket’s reputation collapse under the weight of its own corruption.

The people of Bang Tao are not asking for favors. We are demanding justice.

Will you deliver it? Or will you be part of the problem?
